Philosophy

The Studio has a long and venerable philosophy around the creation and  capture of music and sound. It has to do with comfort and ease; the  facility is large enough for technical separation to ensure accuracy,  but intimate enough to allow solid sight lines, and convenient access  from room to room.  The studio is efficient: from architectural, to  electronic design, everything has been built and maintained to utilize  the most from everything from natural light sources, to large diameter,  multi-strand cabling, to mic preamplifiers actually living as close as  possible to the microphones, not miles away in a remote control room.  The control room is extremely accurate, which is critical to getting your mixes to sound good no matter what the playback system. In addition to having soffit mounted Tannoy System 15 monitors,we also faithfully cross reference every mix on a pair of Klein and Hummel near field monitors, a Bose wave radio, highest quality headphones, and a boombox... the ultimate test! We also have some very lovely instruments, from an excellent and  specifically chosen Yamaha C-7, 7'6"grand piano, to some exotic and rare keyboards. However, even with our architectural and technical excellence, the  ultimate key to our success is how unencumbered the artist experience  is.  This is the human side of the equation, and we use our thousands of  successful sessions as a reference library.. there isn't much that we  haven't seen or experienced, and we apply this vast experience to gently  guide you when appropriate, translate technical options and their  meaning, and above all, make your recordings the very best they can  be... both from encouraging performance, to nailing the ultimate  microphone-preamp-dynamics chain to put a rare, clarified glow around  each vocal, each instrumental.  All of this adds up to our goal of a  partnership in excellence with you, our client.  We want you to  succeed, and will handle all the technical details to help get you there.
